I bought Madden 08 and installed it and now my computer says "The program can't start because d3dx9_30.dll is missing from your computer". What do i do and how can i get to play my game?

1. Unarchive the package.
2. Copy DLL file in system32 folder [ C:\WINDOWS\system32 ]
3. Click on Start > Run... To install the files, type: regsvr32 filename.dll
4. In the end, you should receive a message saying that your file was succesfully installed/uninstalled.




I would uninstall the game and reinstall it. It sounds like the install went bad at some point. I would NOT go online and look for that file to download because unless you're careful, it is very easy to get a virus.

That's a DirectX problem; did you skip the DirectX installation while it was installing? DirectX doesn't always just use the latest version's files; often a game will need the files from when it was released. Anyway, try running setup.exe (it should be there; use that instead of the autorun if it is) again and running a "Repair" install; hopefully that'll fix it. If it doesn't, you can do this:

Go to http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-fi… and download the d3dx9_30.dll, then put that in C:\Windows\system32\ or wherever your system32 folder is, then go to either Run or the search bar if you're in Vista, type "cmd" and hit enter.

In that, type "cd %windir%\system32", then "regsvr32 d3dx9_30.dll". It should give you a success message, and if it does, you should be all set to play your game!
